hi!

i am a natural light portrait photographer based out of staunton, virginia. i have a 4-year old son who inspires me to think positively and that when things do hurt, band-aids work.

for the first thirty minutes of your session, we'll focus on some posed shots to mark a specific time or special event. i'll place you in a spot with great lighting and let you be yourselves, with an occasional direction from me. afterwards, i want you to relax and resume what you were doing or were planning to do next. i may steal someone away for a few minutes or decide to sit down on the driveway with your little one and play with cars. change your clothes, cook dinner, feed the baby, surf the internet, let your kid run around in their underpants, give them a bath, wrestle in bed, take a nap. i'll focus on capturing what life is really like in your home and around your house, what makes your family unique. does a messy house or seeing a photo of yourself makeup free or in sweatpants make you cringe? you may not share them on the family holiday card but you'll share them with yourself and your family over and over again.
